Lee's Karate Studio

Lee's Karate Studio
This is an interesting place located in Serria Vista, AZ. Half of the building is a boxing/karate studio, the other half is a dance studio. They hold a dance/social on Saturday nights. We've danced with this energetic group for the last three years or so, so we knew the majority of this audience. Our good friends, (Mom & Dad), Randy and Hilda Smith teach line dancing there once a week. They arranged for Michael to do a show last weekend. They pre-sold 60 tickets, which was the occupancy limit. They could have sold even more! Needless to say this was a fun show with lots of dancing.

To go back just a step; we met most of this group, as I said, about 3 years ago. My first impression was WOW! I want to be them in 20 years. I'm 51 and Michael is 49, but most of this group is 65 and more. They call us kids. Morris and his wife Lillian, golf 3 days a week and he just celebrated his 90th. birthday! Terry & Milla are just everywhere. Rose doesn't walk she runs! She is this little petite thing and she literally jumps out of her seat and runs to the dance floor when a song she likes starts. Hubby Bill has to follow. This group is out there dancing and riding motorcycles and travelling. They are living life. They make me want to take care of myself; eat right and exercise. I was talking to Bernie Tax on the phone one day and she told me that she and John had just got done with their 5 mile bike ride! WHAT? They're in their 60's! They are truly inspirational. All the dance couples are very active.

OK, back to Earth. We tried something new this show. On several occasions I've wanted to comment on something Michael's saying during the show, but I have no microphone. So, we talked about it and decided that I would set up the extra mic and see what happens. So, here we are, the mic is set up. Michael even announces that I will be commenting during the show and what happens? NOTHING! I think of things to say, like always, but I can't bring myself to speak! I start worrying that I'll say something wrong. Aargh! As with everything else, it will get better with time. I PROMISE.

The show went really well. Not only did we have dear friends in attendance, there were a few new faces and they all loved the show. We've had lots of great reviews. We had lots of well wishes for our tour and some have come to Tombstone to see our progress on the bus.

The next show will be the Dragoon Mountain Bike and Car Show at THE THING. See our website for more info, www.michaelhargis.com.
We post more photos as they ome in.
